A 17 day photo tour Along the highlights of Namibia

Namibia is a country where you will travel from one highlight to the next. You will undoubtedly be filled with wonder. Namibia is located between the Kalahari desert and the Atlantic Ocean and one of the youngest countries in Africa. The diverse cultures, the spectacular landscape and its wildlife are a dream for every photographer. This 17 day photography tour takes us through the most beautiful areas – Ultimate Namibia!

Forty-two percent of Namibia's land is under the oversight of highly successful wildlife management. Most countries in Africa have declining numbers of endangered species, Namibia has growing numbers. Even outside its national parks.
But Namibia is above all a country with very diverse landscapes, from beautiful red sand dunes and extremely dry and rocky areas to the wildlife parks with drinking wells for a diverse selection of animals. Inbetween this strange but beautiful nature you will suddenly find a German colonial town, a bustling harbor or a beautiful lodge, something that gives the trip an even more special touch

During this trip we travel with a maximum of 6 participants in a 10-seater 4×4 all-terrain vehicle. In this way, every participant has a spacious seat at the large sliding windows. The car is driven by a so-called "expert guide" from one of the best safari operators in Namibia, so we will use local knowledge and experience during the trip.

Rob

A fantastic trip with beautiful photo locations, a friendly atmosphere and special places to stay. We returned home with thousands of photos each.

Liesbeth and Inge

We could say a lot about our Namibia trip but perhaps it should suffice to confirm that Mike more than delivers what he promises. It was super, fascinating, instructive and organized down to the last detail! A big thank you from Liesbeth and Inge and see you in Botswana

Gerrit

Shooting at a higher level in a fantastically diverse country. This trip has definitely entered my top three.

You will be welcomed at the airport by Mike and our local “expert guide”, who will take you to your accommodation. A briefing will follow. We travel in a special Toyota Land-Cruiser safari vehicle and we are accompanied by an English-speaking professional guide with years of experience. The luxury safari vehicles are designed to provide ultimate comfort and amenities for privately guided groups. It will take your safari experience to the next level!

The Quivertree is a plant that is reminiscent of the Aloe plant and has a beautiful bark with golden brown tones. We of course photograph them in the warm light of the setting sun, but in the evening we continue to capture the Quiver trees in combination with the night starry sky. The period in which this trip takes place is ideal because of the often clear nights. As mentioned earlier; Due to its climate and geographical location, Namibia is one of the best places in the world for capturing the starry sky!

In addition to the Quiver trees, Giant's playground is also on the program. The rocks of Giant's playground appear to be stacked on top of each other, just as if a giant was playing with a box of blocks. In these areas we can spend hours exploring the natural shapes and lines of this fantastic landscape.

After a final session at Giants Playground, where the rising sun gives the sky some extra color, we leave for Lüderitz. We will go out in the afternoon to get a feel for the area and there will be time to explore on our own.

Today we leave early to photograph Kolmanskop from sunrise. We have special permits for this that allow us to photograph outside regular opening hours.

Klein-Aus Vista is located in the Gondwana Sperrgebiet Rand Park, at the foot of the Aus Mountains. Desert Horse Inn has 30 comfortable en-suite rooms. The central lounge offers a self-service bar. There is also a restaurant with a terrace, from which you have fantastic views over the desert.

We stay in the Namib-Naukluft National Park itself so that we can be in Deadvlei well before sunrise and well after sunset. The view from the dunes is also magnificent, the late and early light is magical.

During our sessions in this area we visit Deadvlei twice, so that we can work on the best compositions during sunrise and sunset. The light in the morning and evening is also different every time. Because we are photographing the hordes of tourists before and after, we can also work in an environment that is still free from large groups of visitors. We naturally have an eye for the residents of this beautiful area and will stop where possible to capture them as well.

For our dose of vast landscapes and sweeping vistas, Namib Dune Star Camp is the ideal outdoor retreat. Located in the middle of the Namib Desert, it is a wonderful location to explore the dramatic desert landscape on foot for a truly intimate experience.

After the dry and sandy environment of the desert, a big change now awaits us, we are going to the coastal town of Walvis Bay where it can be foggy and chilly.

We spend the night in Desert Breeze on a bed and breakfast basis. Desert Breeze connects the Namib Desert with the architecture of Swakopmund, just minutes away. The lodge was built on the edge of the town and consists of 12 luxury bungalows and one large villa with 2 bedrooms, each with a view over the vast dunes of the Namib desert. This beautiful lodge is the base for our tours in this area.

We go back inland to visit the incredibly beautiful location of Spitzkoppe. The luxurious Spitzkopen lodge is our base for our morning, evening and night sessions in this area. There is so much to discover that we stay here for two nights.

It's time for some wildlife! We leave for a luxurious private game reserve for two safari drives. During the first afternoon drive we look for animals in the best light. We have our own private vehicle with a "window seat" for everyone. The car is completely open for maximum visibility. On the morning of our departure we make one last short game drive before we unfortunately have to drop everyone off at Windhoek airport.

This unique photo tour through southern Namibia focuses on landscape, macro and wildlife. Where possible, we sleep in the most fantastic locations with ditto accommodation. In terms of comfort, we will lack nothing so that we can fully focus on our photography.
We use our own specially equipped 4×4 with plenty of space for each participant and their own window seat. The physical strain is minimal, but the walk to deadvlei can be a challenge for some. Due to the structure of the trip, it is suitable for photographers of every level, but also travel enthusiasts and notphotographers are very welcome. Because we often use the same accommodation for a longer period of time, you could, for example, spend a morning or afternoon relaxing at one of our lodges
