Macro photography from A to Z
€165.00
Macro photography is a popular form of photography. If you're adept at this side of wildlife photography AND can spot good photo opportunities, there's something to shoot all year round.
Macro photography is also a very technical form of photography. It is therefore also said that if you can take good macro photos, you can photograph anything!
It is also a form of photography in which you have to fully master the technique of your camera. Every technical error is immediately punished with the extreme enlargements with which we work. This one-day macro course has been set up for photographers who want to learn more about macro photography and want to learn how to set up their camera better. And when better to give this course than in the season when nature awakens again?! This way you have a good preparation for spring or a photogenic summer and autumn!

Macro Macro Booster Program
During this unique course we will go out in a small group of a maximum of 6 participants for a macro course that is filled from A to Z with theory and practical exercises. In addition to lectures, exercises and practical sessions, there is sufficient room for discussion and editing of the work made. This way you get a lot of variation in the techniques and more depth will be possible than in the regular 4-hour workshops.
Morning Program - SUNDAY March 24, 2024 "Technique, observation and choice of subject"
In this morning session we will discuss the technical skills with regard to macro photography. Aspects such as shutter speed, depth of field, choice of aperture and additional camera settings are extensively discussed. Macro photographers often use a variety of tools ranging from extension tubes, bellows and flashes to reflectors. These tools are of course all covered during the theoretical session.
Mike then shows you that you don't immediately dive into your subject, but shoot in phases. This also includes searching, enjoying, being amazed and looking at it from different angles. A process of awareness before you proceed to the actual shooting. The result is that beautiful series are created, instead of just that one photo. After the practice we go into the field to capture the flowering of the photogenic wood anemones. Within a radius of 10 kilometers around Voorschoten there are several beautiful locations where we can put what we have learned into practice.
Afternoon program - SUNDAY March 24, 2024 "Creative macro photography"
After lunch we pull out all the stops and Mike teaches you that this form of nature photography offers you many possibilities. After this afternoon session you will be a master of 'out-of-the-box' thinking and you will know everything about bokeh, depth of field, diffuse image, backlight, high-key and double exposures, among other things. Perhaps still unclear photo terms, but later techniques that increase your creativity and make your photos a lot more exciting.
What will you learn, among other things?
- Working with the right sharpness and depth of field. You decide what you want sharp and which parts can be blurred.
- You learn how to set and influence the exposure with the help of tools so that a well-exposed photo is always created
- How to master the camera technique and how to make it work to your advantage. When do you choose the M, Tv or Av mode?
- You learn to look at the landscape and your subject. Analyzing the light beforehand helps you choose the most suitable composition
Mike shows you how to use these techniques to get the most attractive macro photos. You will receive help with the implementation and we will discuss your photos in the field so that you can immediately get started with the tips and advice.
This is an indispensable foundation for the budding macro photographer. You will notice that you immediately start photographing better.
