Pentax Photo Course – Lighting and Techniques|
Saturday November 3, 2018

During the Pentax Photowalk at the Hoge Veluwe, the idea arose to develop a workshop specifically for Pentax users. How do you deal with the changing conditions of the light? Which camera settings can you use best? When do you use the more advanced features of the cameras, etc, etc.
Throughout the day we will continue to practice with exposure, resolution, focal length and depth of field. After this day you will have a better understanding of how to operate your camera and you will know which settings are best to use in common situations.

Pentax Photo Course - Lighting and Techniques (Saturday, November 3, 2018)

During the Pentax Photowalk at the Hoge Veluwe, the idea arose to develop a workshop specifically for Pentax users. How do you deal with the changing conditions of the light? Which camera settings can you use best? When do you use the more advanced features of the cameras, etc, etc.
This photo course assumes that you have mastered the normal operation of your camera and have a basic understanding of the exposure triangle; aperture, shutter speed and ISO.

We shoot in the morning in the pigeons for the corridor, the versatile green zone between Voorschoten, Leidschendam and Wassenaar. The corridor is named after it Castle Duivenvoorde, which is located in the middle of the green zone. We start our day at 08:00 on the associated estate. After a short introduction, we quickly set off to get started at first light.
As a Pentax ambassador, I have the opportunity to bring a number of demo cameras and lenses with me so that you can get acquainted with these products. Before the start of this photo course, I will make an inventory of the cameras and lenses that you would like to test, and, depending on availability, make them available during the workshop.

After we have been busy for about 1.5 to 2 hours in the morning, we will make a stopover for a theory session in my presentation room (screen of 265 cm wide). Using numerous examples, we discuss the lighting techniques and camera settings that I use. Of course, composition and point of view also come to our attention. I will also briefly show how the workflow is during the post-processing of my images in Lightroom and/or Photoshop.

After a nice lunch, we set off for the afternoon session at Royal estate De Horsten. A fantastic location to put into practice all the information that has accumulated in our heads by then.
Throughout the day we will continue to play with light, resolution, focal length and depth of field. After this day you will have a better understanding of how to operate your camera and you will know which settings are best to use in common situations.

Is this workshop right for you?

This Pentax photo course is suitable for participants of all levels. Many techniques can already be applied with the basic Pentax models and you do not need an extensive range of lenses or tools. Some basic knowledge about the operation of your camera, aperture and shutter speeds is assumed. Do you especially want to be inspired by all the possibilities that our system has to offer? Then this masterclass is perfect for you!

Program

We start this at 08.00 am on the estate at Duivenvoorde Castle. After this, clear images and additional explanation will give you a further insight into the settings and techniques that you could apply. After a nice lunch we go on the road and we will put this theory into practice. The afternoon session will take place in the Horsten estate. Around 15.00/16.00 we stop and have a short debriefing.

Location: Voorschoten - Duivenvoorde corridor
Workshop leader: Mike Muizebelt
Number of participants: maximum 8
Level: novice and experienced photographers
Inclusive: snack break, lunch, coffee, tea during the workshop
