For this occasion we have exclusive access to the most beautiful butterfly garden in the Netherlands with a small group: Butterflies aan de Vliet. During this extensive macro photography workshop, we will take your photography to a higher level.
At any given time, there are at least 1500 butterflies in the Butterfly Garden of Vlinders aan de Vliet in Leidschendam. In addition, dozens of birds walk and fly freely in the garden (if, for example, rshoulder teal, turaco, diamond dove, canary, parakeet, zebra finch, Mozambique's ice cream and pointed-tailed finch). They feel at home in this tropical jungle, so nests with eggs are regularly found. 

Streams flow in the garden and there are several freshwater ponds. In and around the water you can find fish, amphibians and turtle species such as the red-eared slider, saw turtle, yellow-eared slider, koi and the Korean fire-bellied toad.

The terrace pond and the walk-through aviary include eand young couple African dwarf crocodiles, Amazonian fish, greene iguanas and geel-fronted amazon parrots waiting for us.

The program of this macro photography workshop starts and ends at my home where we will use the presentation facilities. From there we will go together Butterflies on the Vliet travel (3 minutes by car).

Program:

• 08.30 - 08.45 Reception
• 08.45 - 09.45 Theoretical preparation through presentation on a large projection screen
• 09.45 - 10.00 To Butterflies on the Vliet
• 10.00 - 12.00 Exclusive shooting in small group of maximum 8/9 people
• 12.00 - 13.30 Departure and return journey for a light lunch of sandwiches and soup (please advise of dietary requirements)
• 13.30 - 15.00 Discussion of 3 to 4 images per person on the projection screen

In addition to the techniques that can be used in macro photography, we also focus on the artistic side of this form of photography. Some basic knowledge of aperture values and shutter speeds are required to follow this workshop.
You also need a compact and/or SLR camera with a macro lens and/or intermediate rings. Until 12.00 we can use a tripod (not necessary for participation).

Since we rent the location exclusively, a minimum number of 6 participants is required for this workshop to take place. If this number is not reached, you will be contacted to schedule a new date or refund the costs.
